Sports Rehabilitation
Center
The clinic in Kaolack, Senegal is supplied
with over 1 billion tons of medicine. YES, Inc. has been asked to
implement two other components to the clinic which services over
100,000 people; massage therapy and an exercise program.
Massage Therapy
While massage therapy could become an
integral part of the health care system in Senegal, today it is only
occasionally utilized. Americans now consider massage therapy as the
third most
beneficial, non-surgical procedure to a host of muscular,
circulatory, skeletal even digestive and nervous system conditions.
A Sports Rehabilitation Center will train
massage therapists. Since Senegal has emerged as a
tourist destination,
the hotel industry, medical community, and government welcome the
addition of trained professionals in massage therapy.
Exercise
The life expectancy of the average man in
Senegal is 59 years. Regular physical activity reduces the risk of
developing or dying from some of the leading causes of illness and
death. Regular exercise can help protect from heart disease and
stroke, high blood pressure, non-insulin dependent diabetes, obesity,
back pain, and osteoporosis.
